Still finding stuff from Christmas Jam to put up. This is of the absolutely spiritual Ben Harper. The Relentless 7 was good. Better than the reviews I had heard going into it. However it is really hard to beat the IC.
Warren and John Paul Jones delivered a short but sweet, "Soulshine" and "Going to California." Amazing! I can't begin to express how great Christmas Jam was this year.
I guess I have no excuse of not having anything to put up after Christmas Jam. Here is another cool multiple exposure from the jam. This one is of Buddy Cage and Travis Tritt.
Christmas Jam is ridiculous. Two nights of great friends, phenomenal music and Asheville. There may be nothing better. Here is a multiple exposure of Warren over looking Karl Denson and Robben Ford during the closing set of Gov't Zep!
Just a little something extra. This is from my shoot with Backyard Tire Fire from yesterday. They are a great band from Bloomington Ill. Check em out at www.backyardtirefire.com
Busy for the next couple of days so I figured I would go ahead and post early, rather than late or not at all. This is a really cool band from Denver, CO called Oakhurst. Kinda torch bearing youngsters in the vein of Leftover Salmon.
Sorry for the long delay. Here is some pics from the Drive By Truckers Halloween show. A full review and pics should go up any day at www.honesttune.com
Well Oct. has been a busy month. I worked in San Jose, Costa Rica with my friend Erick for a week. Shot Monday Night Football with the TN Titans and Indianapolis Colts and had a great shoot with Alejandro Escovedo. This is a photo from our shoot at Exit In.
Here is a pic from a shoot I did with George Sluppick. George has played in many different projects, but is probably most known for his work with Mofro and Robert Walter's 20th Congress.
Here is a photo from Trey Anastasio and the Orchestra Nashville's performance this past weekend. It was the world premiere of Trey's newest work "Time Turns Elastic". It was also probably the only time in orchestra history you could walk out of the performance and get a nitrous balloon across the street.
Let's try calling it the photo of the week, and see if I feel like less a liar for saying it. This is a photo from a shoot I did this past weekend in Arkansas with Leftover Salmon.
Mulberry Mountain Music Fest was a blast. I am sure it will provide many of the upcoming post.
I guess at this point it should be called the photo of the whenever I want. This a photo from a shoot I did a few days ago with a great young band from here in the Music City. Look out for Darla Farmer, ladies and gents.
I woke up this morning from a severe pain radiating from my back, and could barely move. However since I missed posting something yesterday due to extremely friendly bike riding conditions I crawled to the CPU for ya. Here is a photo of Widespread Panic from the Tennessee Theater a few weeks ago.
Tea Leaf Green with new bassist Reed Mathis (of Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey fame) laid down a great afternoon set at Rothbury's The Ranch Arena. The Ranch was a beautiful stage surrounded by tall shade trees and full of great music all weekend long.
Brad Hodge Photography is about capturing essence. The magical moment when music unfolds into memories, a sun setting over a field of thousands or that moment of solitude when the world seems fair and just. When it happens we will be there, quietly without disrupting nature's flow to capture and share with the rest of the world.
Aside from the daily quest to capture moments of bliss, we also do band promotional portraits, album packaging, editorial assignments and much more.
