12/31/2007 Photo of the Day

Ladies and gentlemen.... The insanely talented Donald Harrison. This is a multiple exposure of the masterful jazz man from N.O. Jazz and Heritage Festival earlier this year. Happy NYE to everyone.

If you are in Nashville go see Old Union at the Belcourt!

This is a multiple exposure of the iconic bluesman Taj Mahal. The photo was taken earlier this year at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage festival. Taj is such an amazing musician, and fine showman. It is always a treat to witness him perform.

12/29/2007 Photo of the Day

The Tennessee Titans took a victory lap last year after their unexpected win over the Indianapolis Colts. They almost beat them again earlier this season here in Nashville, and will hopefully be celebrating in the RCA dome on Sunday night.

We are coming for you Colts! Only one more day until the Titans square off with the Indianapolis Colts for a chance to go to the playoffs. It will be a tough game for the Titans to win in the RCA dome, but hopefully we will be up to the challenge.

12/27/2007 Photo of the Day

I missed getting this up technically on the 27th. In honor of Vince Young's University of Texas winning their bowl game, here is VY making it work against the Colts earlier this year. The Colts being the team the Titans have to go thru this weekend to make the playoffs.

NY Jets QB Chad Pennington came home to Tennessee, and narrowly avoided the grasp of Albert Haynesworth on this play. He was sacked 6 times by the swarming TN defense. Hopefully they will be ready again this weekend for the Colts.

Cortland Finnegan making a play to break up a Charger TD. The Chargers went on to beat the Titans in overtime, but the TN defense played a rock solid game. Merry Christmas-

LenDale White broke the 1,000 yard rushing mark today in the TN titans win over the NY Jets.  It was an ugly football game and over with quick.  If the Titans can beat the Colts next week, some how they will have made it to the playoffs.   One more win!

Happy Holidays,
I am off to shoot the TN Titans vs. NY Jets this afternoon.  I love shooting pro football.   The action is so fast and the atmosphere is electric.  Here is a photo from the Titans first home game this season.  Enjoy and go TITANS!!!!

Photo of the Day 12/22/2007

I am getting excited about 2008.   First Jamcruise then in March a return trip to Langerado.  I am sure there will be some other excitement between the two events.  This photo is from my first Langerado experience.  It is Donavon Frankenreiter from the 2005 festival.   Langerado has grown quickly into one of the premiere American music festivals, and this year goes even bigger relocating to the Big Cypress!

Photo of the Day 12/21/2007

I assisted for a good friend and an amazing photographer today, Dean Dixon.  The subject was TN Titan pro bowl defensive tackle, Albert Haynesworth.  Thru Dean's creative energy I was  reminded of a photo I took at Bonnaroo this past summer.  During Manu Chao's set I just couldn't find my place and visualize nice photos.  In a moment of frustration waiting on the guy in front of me to stop waiving his camera in the air (in hopes that a photo might smack into it) I noticed it was cool to see the pics come up on his viewfinder.  The photo on the back of his camera is actually one of mine from the show.  I carefully resized it and layered it on to the LCD.  Another great moment brought to you by turkey.

A friend of mine told me over a turkey bag I should put up a shot of Tom Petty, and since I too had tasted the turkey I could not think of anything better.   If you don't love Tom Petty who exactly do you love?  It is from deep down in the vault, and was taken at the late and never really that great Starwood Amphitheater.  Enjoy-

Photo of the Day 12/19/2007

I was offered the opportunity to cover Wakarusa for Relix Magazine earlier this year.  It was the first time I had ever attended the festival, and I had a marvelous time.  The line up included great sets from Les Claypool, Widespread Panic, Tea Leaf Green, Railroad Earth, Outformation, Ozomatli, Tom Morello and so much more.  Ben Harper was a headliner, and he and the Innocent Criminals gave a spectacular performance.

Photo of the Day 12/18/07

It was an exciting fall for Widespread Panic and the legion of rabid fans known as Spreadheads.  I was fortunate enough to photograph quiet a few of the shows for the band this tour, and the closing dates in Birmingham were a pair of them.  This photo is from the first of the two nights.  Enjoy-

Photo of the Day 12/17/07

Well yet another new adventure.  2008 promises to be filled with bliss.  Starting in Jan. with Jamcruise (working with my good friend Michael Weintrob) and who knows what will follow.  Anyway I have wanted to do a photo of the day archive for a while.  Here goes nothing.  Stay tuned for more daily.

First up the amazing Michael Franti!
