Photo of the Day 12/21/2007

I assisted for a good friend and an amazing photographer today, Dean Dixon.  The subject was TN Titan pro bowl defensive tackle, Albert Haynesworth.  Thru Dean's creative energy I was  reminded of a photo I took at Bonnaroo this past summer.  During Manu Chao's set I just couldn't find my place and visualize nice photos.  In a moment of frustration waiting on the guy in front of me to stop waiving his camera in the air (in hopes that a photo might smack into it) I noticed it was cool to see the pics come up on his viewfinder.  The photo on the back of his camera is actually one of mine from the show.  I carefully resized it and layered it on to the LCD.  Another great moment brought to you by turkey.

A friend of mine told me over a turkey bag I should put up a shot of Tom Petty, and since I too had tasted the turkey I could not think of anything better.   If you don't love Tom Petty who exactly do you love?  It is from deep down in the vault, and was taken at the late and never really that great Starwood Amphitheater.  Enjoy-

Photo of the Day 12/19/2007

I was offered the opportunity to cover Wakarusa for Relix Magazine earlier this year.  It was the first time I had ever attended the festival, and I had a marvelous time.  The line up included great sets from Les Claypool, Widespread Panic, Tea Leaf Green, Railroad Earth, Outformation, Ozomatli, Tom Morello and so much more.  Ben Harper was a headliner, and he and the Innocent Criminals gave a spectacular performance.

Photo of the Day 12/18/07

It was an exciting fall for Widespread Panic and the legion of rabid fans known as Spreadheads.  I was fortunate enough to photograph quiet a few of the shows for the band this tour, and the closing dates in Birmingham were a pair of them.  This photo is from the first of the two nights.  Enjoy-

Photo of the Day 12/17/07

Well yet another new adventure.  2008 promises to be filled with bliss.  Starting in Jan. with Jamcruise (working with my good friend Michael Weintrob) and who knows what will follow.  Anyway I have wanted to do a photo of the day archive for a while.  Here goes nothing.  Stay tuned for more daily.

First up the amazing Michael Franti!
